Propagating roses by cuttings is an inexpensive way to acquire more rose plants. It may take 2-3 years for the plants to grow into multi-caned specimens. All canes will produce blooms identical to those of the mother plant.
1 gru 2021 · Here are the simple steps for rooting rose cuttings in water: Early summer is prime time for rose water propagation. Be sure the parent plant is growing well and free of pests or disease. Use a clean knife or pruners to cut a rose stem measuring about 4 to 6 inches (10-15 cm.) long.
To root rose cuttings in water, select a 12-inch segment of a new stem, remove flowers and buds, make a fresh cut at the bottom of the stem, apply rooting hormone, and insert the stem into a potting mix. Cover the cutting with plastic and keep the soil moist until roots form.
