I found a fix. You can stop steam vr from opening when you start an application if you go to the settings>developer settings>status and set it to never after that your steam should stay closed.

11 cze 2020 · This appears to have been a Roblox Player issue. Roblox released an updated version today which resolves this issue.
23 lut 2024 · After some Troubleshooting, I finally found the problem. Something with the recent update must've screwed something up with the OPENXR runtime settings for the game. Steam VR Fix: Open Steam VR ---> Settings --> OpenXR ---> SET STEAMVR AS OPENXR RUNTIME.
I searched and tried everything - updated drivers, plugged in via USB, reinstalled steam VR, reinstalled games, changed between Oculus and SteamVR as default OpenXR runtime, manually added steam games to oculus library and launched from there, etc. Nothing worked.
8 gru 2022 · Ensure a SteamVR-compatible device is connected to your PC and that all SteamVR-related programs are closed. Open Roblox with VR set to “On” in the Roblox settings. The expected behavior is that Roblox does not enter VR mode as SteamVR is not open.
13 sty 2021 · SteamVR stopped detecting Roblox. EDIT: Roblox updated today and SteamVR now detects roblox as a game again. Problem solved. For the past few days I've been occasionally playing Roblox in VR mode. When I launched roblox, SteamVR would automatically start even if it was closed.
I've tried launching steamvr before clicking play on roblox however that just sends my headset to the steamvr home whilst still loading the roblox game in pc mode. The option to toggle vr inside of roblox is not present nor has it ever been present.
