3 maj 2024 · This is something that I have wanted to do for a long time, and that is a pixelated view effect that runs with raytracing in real time. I managed to get this running from 18 FPS to well over 150 FPS (and if I cap the rendering to 60 FPS, my machine can even get over 250 FPS!).

It’s actually a static grid of 128x96 frames. I’m not moving them (although that is a good idea). Instead, I’m setting the “Background color” property of each frame every 30th of a second or so to create the illusion of animation.
