Canton Lake lake is a 230 acre freshwater reservoir owned and operated by the City of Canton. It has 7.1 miles of shoreline and is supervised through assistance with the Illinois Department of Conservation. It offers a variety of amenities including fishing, boating and seasonal camping.
Lake Canton offers fishing, boating, boat slips, kayak launches, a seasonal campground, cabin rental, picnic areas, hiking trails and a lake view observation deck. Cameras are located through out the recreation area.
The camping season runs from April 1 st to October 31st. The Fulton County Camping & Recreation Area is made up of 440 acres which includes approximately 150 acres of water. All lakes in the area are strip-mined lakes with the exception of Little Sister Lake which is a natural creek-fed impoundment.

Located just east of Canton, the 250-acre Canton Lake’s lovely, wooded, 13-mile shoreline has a public campground and boat launch, as well as private residences. Open April 15-October 15, the campground offers full-hookup sites and a restroom/shower facility.
