The rapport between the two is as evident, as it is rewarding. The opener “Walk Away” immediately hits the mark, presenting itself as a tasty teaser for Journey fans. With Mårtensson grandiously ripping out steal fisted riffs and ear seducing harmonies the material on “Rise Up” quickly catches fire.
His solo work and previous band efforts aside, W.E.T. is one of the better melodic rock acts to record. When the label matched these guys up for a record in 2009, it was a match made in heaven. How lucky for us that they decided to record and release a second effort on us, the rock community.
