The Rio Vista Derby is open to anyone who loves to fish. The top prize this year has increased to $4,000! Derby and parking is free to the public. The Rio Vista Bass Festival loves to see everyone get in on the fun and offers an array of games, food, music and entertainment for people of all ages. Fishing Derby. It’s an angler’s dream come true. The oldest Bass Derby (year 76) on the West Coast will once again be highlighted at the Rio Vista Bass Derby & Festival. This year we are fishing for Striped Bass for the adults and Striped Bass and Catfish for the kids.
The fishing derby will end at 3 PM and winners will be announced at the foot of Main. Farther down the waterfront, the last of the bands will play from 3 to 5 PM. The Soroptimist will hold the drawing for their meat raffle at 3:00 PM.
