Jewel tries to help Blu, but Nigel throws her aside, making a cage fall onto Jewel's wing, injuring it. As Nigel mocks them and has Blu pinned down, Blu notices that the fire extinguisher was under pressure from the fall.
As Blu attempts to fly (but doesn't feel the rhythm in his heart) he and Jewel fall, only to land on another glider, and for Blu to accidentally get his beak through another. They then keep falling and have accidents on the beach.

Later, Blu and an injured Jewel fall out of the plane over the bay, and Blu manages to get his wings out just in time to pull up — skimming Jewel's back across the water — before they hit the surface.
