Sling swivel (or QD or dome) studs typically come in various lengths with either wood screw threads (above) or machine screw threads (typically 10-32). For a wood stock, you’d obviously want a wood thread, like those shown above.
20 cze 2019 · These Sling Swivel Studs are Excellent for adding sling mounts to the rifle stock that didn't have them originally. Tip: drill a pilot about 1/2 the screw diameter to avoid splitting the wood and lubricate the threads with a bar of soap. Countersinking the hole with a larger drill finished the job.
20 paź 2020 · To locate the rear stud, I compared several of my factory rifle stocks. I even consulted the instructions in the kit, believe it or not. Those said to place the rear stud 2.5-3 inches forward of the toe, which more or less matches up with the factory stocks I checked.
