A complaint to the police for a life threat is a formal written communication submitted to law enforcement authorities to report an instance where an individual has threatened to cause harm or endanger the life of another person.
Some examples would of someone threatening to kill you would be: someone making verbal threats about wanting to kill you. someone sending threatening emails, letters, or voicemails. posting on social media their intent to cause serious physical harm or death. making physical threats of violence.
Obtain a detailed account of the threat, usually by interviewing the person who made the threat, the intended victim, and other witnesses. Write the exact content of the threat and key observations by each party. Consider the circumstances in which the threat was made and the student’s intentions.
If you experience a threat, please contact your local FBI field office (listings available at www.fbi.gov) or submit a tip via 1-800-CALLFBI (or 1-800-225-5324) or via www.fbi.gov/tips. You can also make an anonymous tip to the FBI by phone or online.
