These gearboxes can have a square, round or 5 Sided housing and all are interchangeable with the same mounting patters, gear ratio, and shaft dimensions.

Gearbox used on some of the 6, 7, 8 and 10 foot cutters. Smooth Input Shaft with 15 Spline Output Shaft Longer output shaft (approx 6") Measure accross the output shaft, for the bolt circle. It should be approx. 8”.
The casting for the gear box has pockets and ridges along the bottom, or at least mine does. After drianing use a little pen light and you may be able to see them. I think the moisture gets in the oil just from using the cutter. The gear box breather on top lets air out as it heats and expands.
