To renew your notary commission in Texas, you must: 1- Complete a notary application no more than ninety days before your current notary commission expires. 2- Purchase a $10,000 Texas notary bond. 3- Pay a $21 state filing fee.
The renewal process for a notary is the same process as obtaining your original commission.
Notary commissions are effective as of the date of qualification of the applicant. Commissions expire four (4) years from the date of issuance and may be renewed by filing an application for renewal no earlier than 90 days before expiration.
