The board design is based on the PIC-based 8-port dimmer concept originally developed by Phil Short. Information on the original concept can be viewed here.

Board Assembly. The following sequence of steps is by no means the only way to assemble the Renard SS24. It is simply a suggested order of events to achieve the desired goal. NOTE: The part numbers referenced in the following instructions are those taken from the Renard SS24 BOM.
Renard SS24 Basic Setup Steps. Ensure all power is OFF. Remove all cables. If installed, remove all 30 removable IC chips (U2, U4 thru U8, and M1 thru M24). Perform a complete and thorough inspection of the underside of the PCB. Check all the solder pads for clean solder joints, no bridging between adjacent pads and that all pads did get soldered.

7 sty 2017 · After the first few revisions and mods, a standardized BOM was created which is call the Renard ‘SS-x’ series, where x is the number of control channels. Common designs are SS-8, SS-16 and SS-24.
