2 mar 2013 · W231 is the only powder I used for pistol calibers. So far I use them for 380acp, 9mm, 40s&w, 45acp, and 44mag. I do use different charge weights for each caliber with the exception of 40 and 45 which I use the same.
11 wrz 2010 · 115 gr FMJ MG 4.8 gr of W231 a tad hotter load but shoots quite well out of my Smith 1911 9mm. Out of an Hk P30L was a tad hot.
10 maj 2009 · With the reloads the 3.3 grs of WW231 shot the best group followed by the 3.5 gr charge. Believe it or not there was noticeable recoil increase when moving up a couple of tenths of powder. All reloads cycled the action on my XD9 fine.
21 kwi 2019 · my wife got a new Springfield Hellcat Pro 9mm. I plan on reloading for it. I have 1000 mixed once fired brass, Extreme 124gn Plated HP's, OLD W231 powder and WSP primers. What is a good starting point? 4.0gn with plated? Also have 124gn Hornady XTP JHP, does anyone have old data for using old W231 powder and an XTP 124gn bullet?
Winchester 231 is a ball powder, one of the most popular handgun propellants in history. It is ideally suited to 38 Special, 45 Auto, and 9mm standard loads. Consistency, clean burning, low flash, and a broad range of applications make this powder a choice for any handgun cartridge loader.
27 cze 2019 · HP-38 (or W231) is a great powder for regular 9mm loads. I use it to load 115 and 124 gr. rounds. It's also a good powder due to its versatility. I use it to load 9mm, .38 Spcl, .44 Spcl and .45 ACP with good results. As someone else said, it also meters very consistently being a spherical powder. I use it in my Dillon SDB for those four calibers.
