Businesses are progressively adopting the Point of Sale (POS) system. This system has a wide range of use which includes; inventory management, sales monitoring, stock counting and reporting, etc. Current POS systems are considered costly and time consuming systems due to high hardware installation (need separate servers etc.) and maintenance cost.
POS systems further serve to automate core business functions such as labor management and the generation of financial reports. As one’s economy becomes increasingly global, the necessity of POS systems’ functionality in accommodating varying languages increases in importance. (Gillum, A. et al ,2011)
Figure no 3 describes the sales process using POS. The cashier section that is directly related to POS enters the name of the item, the number of products, and the total paid by the customer. Then the manager receives financial reports, especially sales reports that have been made by the cashier.
