The Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias is the largest and most impressive grove of redwoods in Yosemite National Park, containing approximately 500 mature giant sequoia trees (sequoiadendron giganteum). The oldest sequoias are estimated to be thousands of years old.

Mariposa Grove is a sequoia grove located near Wawona, California, United States, in the southernmost part of Yosemite National Park. It is the largest grove of giant sequoias in the park, with several hundred mature specimens. Two of its trees are among the 30 largest giant sequoias in the world.

Two species of giant redwood trees can be found in California; Yosemite is home to the variety known as the Giant Sequoia. Measuring an average of 300-350' tall and boasting a diameter of 20', these behemoths can be as wide as a city street and, incredibly, as tall as the Statue of Liberty.
