An atrial septal aneurysm (ASA) is a redundancy or saccular deformity of the atrial septum and is associated with increased mobility of the atrial septal tissue. ASA is defined as excursion of the septal tissue (typically the fossa ovalis) of greater than 10 mm from the plane of the atrial septum into the RA or LA or a combined total excursion ...
14 lip 2011 · During ventricular filling, the flap encroached on the mitral valve annulus, but did not appear to obstruct the mitral valve flow. Greyscale appearances were indicative of redundant septum primum flap (RSPF). Doppler traces obtained at the mitral valve showed normal flow patterns without evidence of stenosis.
13 lip 2010 · If the amount of septal excursion is less than 15 mm, it is referred to as a redundant atrial septum (4). Prenatally, an abnormally redundant septum primum flap is considered in case it extends at least halfway across the left atrium (5).
heart.1 The foramen ovale flap (FOF) is septum primum, which acts as a one-way “valve,” with its free rim on the surface of the left septal. As such, the growth or lack of strong supporting tissue of the septum pri-mum will lead to a mobile and redundant foraminal flap.2 Redundant
9 mar 2020 · This study demonstrates that, in the fetus, the presence of a redundant foramen ovale flap (RFOF) in the absence of a concurrent restrictive foramen ovale may mimic the presence of aortic coarctation.
4 wrz 2017 · Foramen ovale aneurysm is also known as an atrial septal aneurysm or redundant septum primum flap. 2 Foramen ovale aneurysm and premature atrial contractions are often seen together, and it is thought that the flap extends across the left atrium and interferes with the sinoatrial node–atrioventricular node conduction cycle. 3 Foramen ovale ...
Several series have reported redundant foramen ovale in echocardio-graphic and autopsy findings in children and adults but only few reports on the antenatal detection of isolated RFO has been described. We discuss two prenatal cases of iso-lated redundant foramen ovale diagnosed in the third tri-mester.
