3 sty 2021 · Just wondering if anyone has experience running superlight or lightweight shockproof in their differential either straight or mix with other gear oil? What is the review and the oil change interval you used?
One of the first things I did with my '15 GSA (purchased @ 3200 mi), once it hit 6K mi was to put Redline Shockproof Heavy in the final drive. IMPORTANT NOTE: The misuse of Redline lubes in the wrong applications is common. Not surprisingly, false claims against Redline products for less than optimal performance are also common.
15 lis 2008 · I have had great success running The redline 85-250w shockproof, sticks to the gear very well and does a great job. Minimal rearend warmup needed compared to some other conventional oils. I have run REM gears with no issues with synthetic.
20 cze 2019 · I'm looking at Red line oil and noticed that there is Red Line Transmission with shock proof and there there is Red Line Heavy Shock Proof. Whats the diff and which is preferred?
5 mar 2022 · I ran Redline shock proof for 2 changes. I just switched (last week) to 75-140 syn. gear oil. I notice no change in the clunk or shifting. Both shift as smooth as butter and clunk is minimal with Motul V Twin Primary oil.
10 kwi 2013 · You definitely would not want to put heavy gear oil in the primary. I actually use lighter oil in mine. Some guys prefer ATF which is about a 10 wt. The clutch would drag and it would shift like a$$ with gear oil in it.
26 sie 2003 · OG Racing has Heavy Duty, light and super-light weight Redline Shockproof Synthetic for $7.75/qt. I use the heavy duty and have had no problems even running @ 90+ MPH in 100 deg. temps for hours on end.
