Is your computer keeping you up late? f.lux is a free download that warms up your computer display at night, to match your indoor lighting.
I use a red LED headlight. I don’t bother turning on my normal safelight any more. The light is wherever I want. The head light has a white LED and a red LED . A red only LED has its spectrum well in the safe area as it has a narrow spectrum unlike filtered tungsten.
f.lux warms up your screen at night to help you relax and wind down before bed. Created in 2008 to help screens look more like a book, f.lux is now informed by science in sleep and circadian biology to help you adjust your body's sense of night and day.
The reason is that leds only emit light in a very narrow wavelength, unlike traditional tungsten bulbs that have a broad spectrum. If you look up the spectral sensitivity for the paper you’re using, you can buy a bulb that has a wavelength outside of that and you’ll be fine.

f.lux is a really handy tool that allows you to adjust the colour temperature on your display. If you stare at a screen for too long, then the glare from the display begins to hurt your eyes. To start with, turning down your monitor's brightness may help you, but brightness is not the really issue.
