So I purchased some LED strip lights, the multicolored kind, because I wanted to see if they would work as a safelight. Turns out they do! However mine, as they were a cheap amazon product, started to flicker different colors and ruined several prints. Anybody else used LED lights as a safelight?
I use an LED bulb for safelight, but make sure you test for fogging anyway. While a red LED is most likely safe, a lot of “red” led bulbs are in fact white leds with red filters.
Thought I'd try out the red light headlamps and this particular one from canadian tire works pretty well. Decided to try out the headlamp after getting a red led bulb off amazon that didn't work out.
20 lip 2016 · I am using a commercial red LED bulb (1,5 W) in an Ilford SL-1 with the orange filter. Has worked like a charm, it is bright enough to read a newspaper in the darkroom and the light has passed all safelight tests.

Using darkroom safelights is the final step in fixing chemicals to photo paper and exposing the final image. Amber or red darkroom safelight bulbs are the most common for film development. When using safelight filters , never mix red bulbs with amber filters, or the reverse, as it causes a fog on photos.
