The head light has a white LED and a red LED . A red only LED has its spectrum well in the safe area as it has a narrow spectrum unlike filtered tungsten. Some LEDs are multicolour which sounds like your trouble.

When using safelight filters, never mix red bulbs with amber filters, or the reverse, as it causes a fog on photos. In addition, mount safelights onto walls using wall flanges situated at least four feet from the developing images for best results.
