- Topical Bible: Reckon
To count; to enumerate; to number; also, to compute; to calculate. 2. (v. t.) To count as in a number, rank, or series; to estimate by rank or quality; to place by estimation; to account; to esteem; to repute. 3. (v. t.) To charge, attribute, or adjudge to one, as having a certain quality or value.
Reckon, Reckoning: "to take up together" (sun, "with," airo, "to take"), is used with the noun logos, "an account," signifying "to settle account," Mat 18:23, RV, "make a reckoning" (AV, "take account"); Mat 18:24, AV and RV, "to reckon" (logos being understood); Mat 25:19, RV, "maketh a reckoning" (AV, "reckoneth").
To count; to number; that is, to tell the particulars. The priest shall reckon to him the money, according to the years that remain, even to the year of jubilee, and it shall be abated. Lev. 27. I reckoned above two hundred and fifty on the outside of the church. 2. To esteem; to account; to repute. Rom.
It means “to take into account, to calculate, to estimate.” The word impute–“to put to one’s account”–is perhaps the best translation. To reckon also means “to put to one’s account.” It simply means to believe that what God says in His Word is really true in your life.
