For some components I really want for my build I have no other choice than ordering from Reelseats.com (REC's online shop) and the shipping cost is ridiculous (basically same if you order few or lots) so I thought I'd put a note here in case someone else needs stuff and is happy to share the cost.
24 sty 2016 · This year has been difficult to get rod building components/supplies due to all the supply chain issues we're familiar with. The blank for the rod I just finished was ordered in June and rec'd in December.
RECOIL guides are made from an extremely hard but flexible "Shape Memory" alloy, which does not require plating, cannot corrode in any environment, and returns to its original shape after repeated deformations. RECOIL guides are available in Fly, Spinning and Casting configurations.
Others have said Hook and Hackle as well as Mudhole are good suppliers for material. eBay used to be good to get deals on blanks, but I haven’t bought one on there for quite awhile. H&H is good for starter kits, don’t plan on your first rod being a masterpiece!
