If you want not only a great hotel but amazing service I vote for the Halekulani. I’ve stayed at 32 different hotels/condos in Hawaii and Halekulani is so far my favorite on Oahu. I definitely like the ocean front rooms at the Sheraton Waikiki but I think the room is to small compared to Halekulani. 8.
It’s a wellness resort but no one is going to shame you for not being crazy active. I ate 4 meals at the resort restaurant and had no complaints.
But after reading (probably too many) reviews, it seems like the rooms are getting dated and the rooms people think they’re paying for end up not being available. But researching a 5 star property like the Royal Hawaiian yielded similar results at a higher price point.
