15 paź 2024 · In the group with hypothyroidism, increased RDW values were observed in 7 dogs (range: 14.4% to 16.8%), and of these, only 2 dogs had mild non-regenerative, microcytic, normochromic and moderate, normocytic, hyperchromic anemia, respectively.
8 mar 2023 · Red blood cell distribution width and RDW/Ca were significantly increased in 19 (28.1%) non-surviving dogs compared with 51 (71.9%) surviving dogs, and an RDW of >12.7% had good accuracy in predicting short-term death (i.e., dead within 14 days of admission).
Red cell distribution width (RDW) is a quantitative measurement of anisocytosis. This hematological parameter is an important prognostic biomarker for different cardiovascular disorders in humans but its influence on survival has been poorly investigated in dogs with cardiovascular disease.
Studies such as Neiger et al. (2002) in normal dogs with regenerative anemia and not based on the parameter of regenerative RDW found the values of 15.6 ± 1.35 for normal dogs, 15.3 ± 3.93 for regenerative anemia and 16.2 ± 2, 78 for dogs with non-regenerative anemia.
9 gru 2022 · This study aimed to assess the prognostic value of red cell distribution width (RDW) RDW-to-calcium ratio (RDW/Ca), neutrophils-to-lymphocytes ratio (N/L), platelets-to-lymphocytes ratio (P/L) and other easy to obtain and inexpensive hematological and biochemical parameters in dogs with acute pancreatitis.
