Use this form to apply to register all restricted firearms you have newly imported or acquired other than by transfer since December 1, 1998. Do not use this form to register a firearm transferred to you from a business or individual in Canada.

How to fill out the Firearm Transaction Record ATF Form 4473 Instructions? 1. Gather all required personal and identifying information. 2. Complete Section A personally, ensuring clarity and correctness. 3. Verify the information in all sections before signing. 4. Submit the completed form to the transferor or dealer.
To register newly imported restricted or prohibited firearms or firearms manufactured by the business, please submit a Application to Register Firearms for Businesses (including Museums) (form RCMP 5489). This form can be downloaded or obtained by calling the Canadian Firearms Program at 1-800-731-4000.
Non-residents must be 18 years of age or older to use a firearm in Canada or to bring one into the country. If you are coming into Canada with a firearm, please fill out a Non-Resident Firearms Declaration form (RCMP 5589) before you arrive at your entry point into Canada to save you time.
