A number cannot be divided by 0 and the result is thus undefined. Example: 78 ÷ 0 = undefined (but 0 ÷ 78 = 0). When the dividend equals the divisor, which means the same numbers but not 0, then the answer is always 1. For examples: 36 ÷ 36 = 1. Zero is a real number, an integer, a rational number, and a whole number.

Dividing by Zero is undefined. To see why, let us look at what is meant by "division": Division is splitting into equal parts or groups. It is the result of "fair sharing". Example: there are 12 chocolates, and 3 friends want to share them, how do they divide the chocolates? So they get 4 each: 12/3 = 4. Dividing by Zero.
3 sie 2012 · Since $\frac{1}{0}$ doesn't evaluate to a real number (or any kind of number at all, if you're working in $\mathbb{R}$), it's neither rational nor irrational. It's non-existent. See this interfaith description for more information.
10 gru 2018 · Put more mathematically: 0/n = 0 for all non-zero numbers n. You get into the tricky realms when you try to divide by zero itself. It's not true that a number divided by 0 is always undefined. It depends on the problem. I'm going to give you an example from calculus where the number 0/0 is defined.
Rational Expressions, Evaluation, and Restrictions. A rational number, or fraction a b, is a real number defined as a quotient of two integers a and b, where b ≠ 0. Similarly, we define a rational expression, or algebraic fraction P Q, as the quotient of two polynomials P and Q, where Q ≠ 0.
Division by zero is not defined. Division by 0 refers to a division problem having a non-zero number as a dividend (numerator) and zero as a divisor (denominator). Division is a process of splitting a number or a quantity into equal parts.
