Three Amtrak routes travel to Florida: Auto Train (which only stops in Sanford, Florida and in Lorton, Virginia), Silver Star and Silver Meteor. The Silver Meteor and Star routes travel along the East Coast from cities including New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Richmond, Raleigh and Charleston, SC.

It is only possible to reach Florida on Amtrak from the east coast as there are no cross country routes that include stops in Florida. The Auto Train has only one stop in Sanford, Florida.

WASHINGTON – Amtrak customers can now purchase tickets on the Floridian, a new temporary route offering a direct round-trip between Chicago and Miami with intermediate stops in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa that will take customers to these cities in comfort and style.
Amtrak's Silver Star route travels daily between New York City and Miami with many stops in Florida. It's a popular way to get to and from Florida from cities on the East Coast. Note that the Silver Star shares many stations with the Silver Meteor.
