1 wrz 2017 · Here, we describe an electronic system for reducing wildlife–train collisions that combines the precise signalling of active warning systems (e.g., road–railway crossing signals) with the flexibility of installation and affordability of passive warning systems (e.g., headlight reflectors).
In this project, we propose a system that will monitor a railroad track for humans and animals. For the first round of surveillance, we have an IR sensor and a PIR sensor for motion detection, a MEMS sensor for pressure and vibration, and ultrasonic sensors for distance.
Thinking of animal signals as dynamic systems will (i) inspire testable evolutionary hypotheses addressing the patterns of system structure and function (e.g. degeneracy, modularity) and how systems respond to external factors (e.g. robustness, evolvability).
1 lut 2024 · In this review, we outline the olfactory processing of dogs in the nervous system, summarize the current knowledge of scent detection and differentiation; the effect of odors on the dogs’ cognitive and emotional processes and the dog-human bond; and consider the methodological advancements that could be developed further to aid in our ...
15 kwi 2021 · Many works have been performed to improve the reliability of the railway signalling system by modelling the inspection and maintenance process of a railway system. Sysyn et al. outlined and analysed the problem of a scheduled inspections system for common crossings .
10 maj 2020 · It explains the fundamental principles behind railway signalling systems a generic way that does not focus on specific national solutions.
19 sty 2023 · In simple terms, railway signalling is a system of traffic lights for trains. Safety rules permit only one train on a specific section of track at any one time to keep the trains from colliding. Most major railway systems, the UK one included, operate multiple trains per hour, with numerous intersected routes.
