Radioisotope therapy uses radioactive medicines to treat some types of cancer. It is also known as radionuclide therapy. You have the radioisotope as a drink, capsule or injection. You may go home the same day as your treatment or stay in hospital for several days.
This therapy uses radioactive liquids known as radioisotopes or radionuclides to destroy cancer cells. The liquid can be given: by mouth as a drink or capsules; as an injection into a vein. Cancer cells take in the radioisotope more than normal cells do. This means they get a higher dose of radioactivity. This eventually destroys the cancer cells.

15 wrz 2015 · Nodes that show radioactivity, using the gamma probe (‘hot’ nodes), are removed and labelled as SLNs. In addition nodes that are stained blue (with or without radioactivity) are also labelled SLNs.
20 kwi 2021 · Nuclear imaging produces images by detecting radiation from different parts of the body after a radioactive tracer material is administered. The images are recorded on computer and on film. Different types of nuclear imaging tests have different preparation instructions.
