I'd say it's a good 1080p card for medium low settings in modern games. Older games fair better. My Gigabyte Aorus 8gb card has sold for second for more than I paid brand new around launch.
Rx 580 is a good card and excellent value for budget gamers, but let’s calm down with the glorification. Breaking no sweat running the newest games at 1080p? Even with a few sacrifices, it barely breaks 60 fps in non esports titles.
The RX 580 is beyond an acceptable graphics card for 95% of applications. Unless you are playing 1440p games on ultra at 240hz, you shouldn't need to worry. My 580(8gb, admittedly) plays every title I need to at over 60 fps(goal: 144) on either high or ultra settings.
