The library currently standarizes returns submitted in formats dating from 2013 and forwards into consistently named datastructures that follow the same format as the "paper" 990.
ocris is a Python package for extracting text and tabular data from IRS form 990s. It uses a custom configuration of pytesseract to extract text data. To collect tabular data, it uses a combination of open-cv , CascadeTabNet and methods described in Open-Intelligence and Towards Data Science .
