1 wrz 2024 · Pyrimethanil was detected in 96 % of the liver samples and 65 % of the fish tissue samples, with median concentrations of 33.9 μg/kg and 19.7 μg/kg, respectively (Zelalem et al., 2023). Pyrimethanil may pose a risk to primary producers and large invertebrates in highly polluted areas.

Neurological symptoms appear rapidly (30 minutes to 2 hours after drug ingestion), suggesting that in gross overdosage pyrimethamine has a direct toxic effect on the central nervous system.
3 lut 2014 · We describe an outbreak of pyrimethamine toxicity in ischaemic heart disease patients receiving medicines from a single pharmacy due to accidental contamination of iso-sorbide mono-nitrate tablets at industrial level. Late recognition of illness resulted in high mortality.
In this investigation the genotoxic effects of pyrimethamine (PY) were tested in mice in vivo systems, using the bone marrow micronucleus test (MNT) and the transplacental MN test (TMNT). PY at the highest dose (40 mg/kg) induced statistically significant MN in bone marrow cells at 24 and 48 h.
Toxicity. Pyrimethamine is very safe and well tolerated. Occasionally megaloblastic anaemia, neutropenia or thrombocytopenia may develop in patients with pre-existing folate deficiency.
Thermal methods of analysis found that the toxicity of Pyr-MeOH may be reversed by overcoming a desolvation activation energy of 148 kJ/mol. In addition it was found that recrystallization altered the morphology of Pyr.
16 lis 2012 · Pyrimethamine (Pyr) is a folate antagonist with a variety of indications. We report on the inadvertent poisoning of patients with Pyr who underwent bone marrow (BM) biopsy. There were 17 patients (median age 54); the most common presentation was gastrointestinal bleeding and pancytopenia.
