Solving Quadratic Equations by Factoring. Solve (x + 1) (x − 3) = 0. To solve this quadratic equation, I could multiply out the expression on the left-hand side, simplify to find the coefficients, plug those coefficient values into the Quadratic Formula, and chug away to the answer.
