7 lip 2024 · Global data. People living with HIV. Approximately 39.9 million [36.1–44.6 million] people were living with HIV at the end of 2023. 1.4 million [1.1–1.7 million] children living with HIV (0–14 years old). 38.6 million [34.9–43.1 million] adults living with HIV (15+ years old).
7 lip 2023 · HIV-related mortality. In 2022, 630 000 [480 000–880 000] people died from HIV-related causes globally. Since 2010, HIV-related deaths have been reduced by 51%, from 1.3 million [970 000–1.8 million]. The global HIV epidemic claimed 69% fewer lives in 2022 since the peak in 2004.
Of the estimated 40.0 million [confidence bounds: 36.0-44.8 million] people living with HIV worldwide in 2023, 2.38 million [1.83-2.97 million] were children aged 0-19.
