NEW APPLICATIONS. A reader who has never applied for a library card can apply for a Hong Kong Public Libraries library card free of charge. BORROWING LIMITS. The library card issued by the Hong Kong Public Libraries can be used to borrow a maximum of 10 items of library materials at one time from any branch of the Hong Kong Public Libraries.
Account holders may borrow different kinds of library materials from libraries with their valid library card or Smart Identity Card. They can also log into the Hong Kong Public Libraries website for access to e-books and e-resources and enjoy comprehensive library e-services.
Library Services. Gain an overview of the Hong Kong public library system, including where libraries are, the services and facilities they offer, the activities that take place in them and how to use your Hong Kong identity card as a library card.
If you are a library card holder, you can also enjoy the library e-services by logging into MyGovHK and linking up the two accounts. You can then access the e-book collections and other e-resources, do catalogue search, reserve and renew library materials, as well as view the borrower’s records. Online Catalogue
