I've spent a lot of time testing this and they key things I found and confirmed was: Increasing FoV does increase your mouse sensitivity. Increasing FoV does enable you to better see around corner for some reason. 3rd person perspective is NOT affected by FoV.
60% vibrance on your GPU settings. View Distance/Effects , etc set to Medium. (Player models just blends with the ambience on Low.. can't see a thing) This is what works for me the best. Try it and see it works for you or not.
