PS3 Slim is the best combination of reliability and performance. Superslim uses less power but feels very cheap in comparison to Slim. PS3 Fat is the most iconic and collectible of course, but tends to be hard to maintain and is the least reliable.
21 paź 2021 · Slim 2000 and 2100 models are CFW capable, most reliable, cooler and less prone to YLOD due to better manufacturing process, power consumption and heat. 2500 models are better but a bit trickier to get CFW on. Super Slim models are cheaply made and non CFW capable, but that's my personal opinion.
6 lis 2022 · The 25xx models have the best relation between hardware failure rate, capabilities, temps, power consumption and build quality. The trick is to find the CFW capable units out there (which is very difficult if you are not allowed to use the MinVerChk PUP, as @Berion mentioned before).

Three years after the Slim model was released, Sony decided its long-lived PS3 was still not thin enough, and thus the Super Slim model was released in September 2012. This is 25% slimmer and 20% lighter than the Slim model. Like the Slim model, this also supports PSone games.
The newer the models, the better for reliability generally. However if you keep it clean, dust free and well ventilated the 25XX onward are pretty safe. 4XXX disc drive can be pretty noisy, so you should keep that in mind unless you're mostly playing digital games. 3. Reply.
