If I understand correctly, you need to format the drive yourself first, to fat32. Modern versions of Windows 10 don't let you format to fat32 via the disk utility, so you'll have to use a third party app for it.

I have an original 80GB fat ps3 and the HDD is getting full. I want to switch it out and from what I've heard it is pretty easy, but I have a couple questions: I use a 2.5" laptop drive, correct? Also, what is the best drive it put in it? I was thinking 350GB.
