I'm looking at either 160gb or 320gb slims to replace it, but there seems to be subtle differences beyond HDD size. The 320 seems to be less power hungry, better chips, better RAM modules, lighter...but it's hard to confirm.
16 lip 2008 · It may actually be cheaper for Sony to source 80 GB drives (who makes 40 GB drives any more for mainstream use?), which I'd say is a more likely explanation than Sony trying to satisfy the needs of their customers. 80 gig, as mentioned above, is hardly a huge amount of storage space these days.
They're both pretty much the same aside from the larger amount of HDD space in the 80GB, except the 60GB has better backwards compatability with PS2 games because it uses hardware and not...
The main difference besides the HD size and accoutrements, is the 160gb model has wi-fi built in. I am not sure that I would need or even use it. Is it that useful or beneficial to have?
