Do not be wise in your own eyes: We can regard this as an explanation of what it means to lean on one’s own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). It is to regard our wisdom as better and greater than God’s.
(Proverbs 3:5-6) We are called to be a practicing Christian, rather than a practical unbeliever. There is the great tendency for men to “depend upon their own understanding” instead of depending upon the Word of God.
