Prospecting allows you to convert 5 raw ores into useful materials that you will use to craft Jewelcrafting items. Each ore will yield different types of gems, so I put together the table below to list all the available gems that you can get from each ore.
Someone else has posted this comment, that prospecting Iron Ore is a good way to obtain Jade; I'm writing this for concrete proof that it is extremely profitable to mine and prospect, with a roughly 6 : 4 ratio. Let me explain:

Just like in all previous expansions, Jewelcrafters in The War Within must Prospect ore to find raw gemstones, and just like in Dragonflight there is a possibility to specialize into Prospecting to receive more or better quality materials.
