  1. 14 cze 2019 · We showed previously that murine nociception and analgesic responses are regulated by the expression of this gene in dorsal root ganglion (DRG) associated with a cis-eQTL. In this report, we...

  2. 14 cze 2019 · In this report, we identify an exon-level cis -eQTL (rs6471859) that regulates human DRG CA8 alternative splicing, producing a truncated 1,697bp transcript (e.g., CA8-204). Our functional genomic studies show the “G” allele at rs6471859 produces a cryptic 3’UTR splice site regulating expression of CA8-204.

  3. Understand pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of general anaesthetic agents: intravenous agents, inhalation agents, Opioids, neuromuscular blocking agents and reversal agents as well as local anaesthetic agents. Learn about the main uses, advantages and disadvantages of these agents.

  4. For minor procedures, conscious sedation techniques that combine intravenous agents with local anesthetics (see Chapter 26) are often used. These can provide profound analgesia, with retention of the patient's ability to maintain a patent airway and respond to verbal commands.

  5. Over-sedation can increase time on ventilatory support, prolong ICU stay, and may precipitate unnecessary neurological investigations. Sedation should be tailored to the individual needs of the patient. A combination of drugs is often required.

  6. 4 kwi 2022 · There has been an increasing emphasis on multimodal analgesia. This strategy employs use of multiple analgesic medications each with a distinct mechanism of action, which when administered concomitantly may provide profound analgesia.
