The Mcard is your official University of Michigan identification card. You'll use it all over campus to identify yourself as a member of the university community. The UMID number is the cardholder's eight digit student number or employee number.
How Your UMID Is Used. It is printed on the front of your Mcard. Many units, such as the Benefits Office, ask people for this number as an identifier when providing services. It is a key identifier in Wolverine Access. It is required if you will receive any sort of payment from the university.
The Mcard is an ID card for students, faculty, and staff of the University of Michigan-Flint. The Mcard features a photo of the holder, the holder’s name, association (student or department for faculty and staff), and University of Michigan ID Number.
The system allows for staff, faculty, and students to: Submit their MCard photos for approval digitally. Request a new MCard if their MCard was lost (fee associated) or stolen (free). - Submit a MCard Photo. - Check Submission Status. - Request a Replacement MCard.
Currently registered students can obtain a new or replacement Photo ID card by going to the Information Desk in the James C. Renick University Center. Proof of current registration is required to obtain an identification card.
The U-M ID is an eight digit number that is assigned to every applicant once their application materials are received in our office. Your U-M ID is unique to you and will remain with you throughout your connection to the university.
Staff can visit the Registrar’s Office for same-day service, or order a new or replacement ID card online. Information on Staff ID cards can now be found on the UM Intranet. If you are retired or seeking information on special staff ID cards, please contact the Registrar's Office.
