In the Philippines, the most recent teacher education curriculum specifies action research as the type of educa-tional research to be taught in the education research course as identified in the teacher education program.
19 mar 2022 · In the context of Philippine teacher education, action research is defined as “a process of systematic, reflective inquiry to improve educational practices or resolve problems in any operating unit (i.e. school, classroom, office)” (Department of Education, 2017 p. 2).
This descriptive survey explores Filipino teachers’ conceptions of and needs on action research which may be barriers to implementing action research in their classrooms. Participants were randomly selected science and mathematics teachers in government schools in the Philippine’s capital city.
