Celebrating the History of Poway, The City in the Country. Since 1964, the Poway Historical and Memorial Society has been dedicated to preserving the unique and fascinating history of Poway, California through artifacts, buildings, and research for the benefit of the public.
View exhibits and historical artifacts from Poway throughout the years. Take a docent-guided tour of one of Poway’s original pioneer homes. Visiting the Poway Heritage Museum and the Nelson House are free to the public.
Located in Old Poway Park sharing a building with the Hamburger Factory Family Restaurant, the Poway Heritage Museum is home to the Poway Historical and Memorial Society’s vast collection of artifacts, memorabilia, exhibits, and historical records cataloging Poway’s rich history throughout the years.
Today, the Society has a museum in Old Poway Park, to share memories with newcomers and new generations, and a growing archive of images, documents and memorabilia from Poway’s colorful past.
