View the photos on good hooves for some excellent examples! How often - I recommend one hoof a week that is 4 a month! :) Always stay on top of them!
Smooth rough edges and shape the hoof using a cordless Dremel or file. For very long hooves, consider using heavier tools like hoof nippers for more effective trimming. Firmly trim down the growth using the heel or soft pad, then smooth the edges using a dremel, file, or rasp.
