10 wrz 2024 · We also think it would be useful to know about engines that have NOT failed and their mileage so we an attempt to determine a very rough failure rate. So, we are putting together a new and improved list that can act as a 991.1 GT3 (+ GT3RS) vehicle/engine registry.
I haven't driven a car with the 3.8 engine, but I've had two with the 4.0 and it's pure theatre. If you can afford it, the .2 is a no brainer for me. Arguably a better engine (certainly not made of Cadbury Daily Milk like the 3.8 ), manual option, improved aero and better looking.
Can anyone direct me to an old thread or explain the engine issues for the991 GT3? Which engines to avoid and whether extended OPC warranty can be approved for more than ten years? Thanks.
17 gru 2023 · Porsche to replace engines of current 911 GT3 models Stuttgart. Sports car manufacturer Porsche will be replacing the engines of all 911 GT3* vehicles of model year 2014. This is the corrective action derived from intensive internal analyses that were initiated in response to two engine fires.
I am lucky, but then Porsche know of the various issues and have been good to their word and honoured the warranty. My engine was an e series and the new one is a g series. Has anyone heard of any issues with the g series? The mechanics have told me it is quite different to the previous one. Thanks
