26 maj 2022 · In just a few simple steps, anyone can set up a MetaMask wallet and begin exploring the Polygon ecosystem. There are tens of thousands of dApps (decentralized applications) running across the Polygon Proof-of-Stake (PoS) network.
You can use a bridge to transfer some ETH, USDC, or other tokens from Ethereum to Polygon — retaining their value — and start to use them with dapps on Polygon. To dive a bit deeper: At their most basic level, bridges are platforms with contracts on the chains you're transferring to and from.
Polygon Portal helps you bridge your assets on the Polygon PoS, Polygon zkEVM and Ethereum chains, so you get onboarded to the Polygon ecosystem seamlessly.
First, add your Coinbase receiving address to MetaMask by going to Settings and then Contacts. Create a new Coinbase contact and give it a name so you know this is for Matic/Polygon tokens since you might later add other Coinbase addresses for other tokens.
