The discharge of raw sewage into the sea can create a health hazard. Sewage can also lead to oxygen depletion and can be an obvious visual pollution in coastal areas - a major problem for countries with tourist industries.
27 gru 2021 · The results of sea sampling and data processing by chi-square tests unequivocally confirmed that the risk of black wastewater marine pollution along the coast was higher and less acceptable during the navigation and accommodation of smaller and recreational vessels than for large cruise ships.
We sampled the sea at eight different coastal locations over 14 months and then analysed the samples to determine the presence of the indicators of fecal pollution. Simultaneous with the sampling of the sea, we recorded the number and type of vessels accommodated at the port.
15 mar 2021 · As shown in Fig. 1, shipping generates multiple waste streams responsible for emissions of hundreds of contaminants to the marine environment. Hence, it is a huge challenge to predict and compare the waste streams’ environmental impacts due to emissions of contaminants.
7 sty 2021 · Abstract. The article presents a comprehensive and cross-cutting review of key marine waste issues, taking into account: sources, fate, risks, transport pathways, threats, legislation, current...
10 mar 2022 · The management of ship sewage is still facing many challenges concerning high pollutant concentration, compact space on board and increasingly stringent emissions requirements. Our early investigation of ships in the Yangtze River in China found that the inefficient use of treatment facilities and the direct discharge of undisposed sewage are ...
1 lut 2020 · Prevention of Pollution by Sewage from Ships: Includes requirements to control pollution of the sea by sewage discharge limitations.
