19 mar 2023 · Many newbies often mistake the polish kar 98 for a true kar98az. Markings, and shape of stacking hook are first clues. Correct german made and marked kar98az Flattened bolt handle is another.
Some of this stuff is interchangeable with Polish K98 rifles, which are slightly easier to come by. For stock stuff, you might as well get on the waitlist with PPHU Fox in Poland to make a replacement for $400.
21 sie 2023 · The true Kar98a had a short life and was never made in any sizable numbers, so the new gun was often, mistakenly, referred to as the Kar98a, but the proper designation is Kar98az.
24 sty 2020 · As I'm typing I think I answered my own question but it could also be a Polish reworked kar98 but doubt it. I once owned a flat new rebuilt Police kar98az.. It was an amazing rifle.
